Thank you for your interest in the Early Care & Education Assistant Teacher Apprenticeship in partnership with Child Care Resource Center and the LA County Department of Economic Opportunity. Please read the following eligibility requirements before completing this application. Applications will be reviewed and if the number of eligible applicants exceeds the number of available spaces, selection will be made based on the grant’s selection criteria.

Pre-Apprenticeship Apprenticeship Eligibility Requirements (begins Fall 2024)

You are at least 18 years of age
You have a High School diploma or equivalent
You have an interest in working with young children
You are able to make a commitment to complete two college courses with support, 1 course in the Fall of 2024 and 1 course in the first half of Spring of 2025. Classes will be in-person and online.
You have ability to speak, read, and write in English is required
You are able to complete 150 hours of on the job training during the Fall 2024.
You have ability to commute to one of the Employer sites located in San Fernando Valley
You are willing to meet with a Mentor monthly for support and attend professional development
You are willing to provide references
You will pass required Background and Health Clearances: Criminal Record (e.g. Live Scan Fingerprinting), Child Abuse Index, Sexual Offender Registry, Health and Tuberculosis (TB)
You have test and Immunization clearances required
You have the necessary documents to work in the US

Associate Teacher Apprenticeship Eligibility Requirements (begins Mid Spring 2025)
- Upon completion of the pre-apprenticeship, you are available to be hired to work either part-time or full-time by April 2025
- You are willing to meet with a Mentor monthly for support and professional development
- You successfully complete two additional courses (1 in the second half of Spring 2025 and 1 in Summer 2025)
* Successfully complete a minimum of 1850 hours of on the job training
